Hospital Clinica Biblica

Clinica Biblica is the largest private hospital in Costa Rica and is ranked in the top 5 best hospitals in all of Latin America by America Economia magazine 2009. Its 80 years of service has made the institution a stable pillar of medical services in Costa Rica. The hospital provides both national and international patients with access to up-to-date technology and a wide range of physicians, surgeons, and specialists. The hospital has 250 in house doctors and another 750 that use the facilities.

A unique aspect of Clinica Biblica is that it is a non profit organization. Its mission is to use the economic resources generated by the hospital to give back to the community through social programs, charities and donations to benefit those in need (one third of the profits generated are given back to the community).

Another important accomplishment is the completion of a rigorous process to obtain the Joint Commission International Accreditation – the highest accreditation given to an international hospital. It is the first hospital in the region to receive this coveted certification. The Joint Commission has been accrediting hospitals for more than 50 years and its accreditation is a nationwide seal of approval that indicates a hospital meets high performance standards. The JCI accreditation helps hospitals improve their performance, raise the level of patient care, and demonstrate accountability in the rapidly changing health care marketplace.
